definitely all MALE!!!!

so here are a few shots of MY weekend home alone with henry. we had a great time together even though the friday night he woke up FOUR times!!! oh well...his cute smile still made me smile the next morning :). anyways- here is the story about the pics above. we got up saturday morning, ate breakfast, playing, & i was watching some tv. when i am not using the remote i put it on top of the chair in the back so henry can't get to it (the remote is one of his top 5 things). i had been eating my breakfast in this chair so i decided to get up and go wash my dishes. next thing i know, i turn around from the sink and look into the living room at this!! he has crawled up, gotten the remote, changed the channel and is just chillin' in the chair!!! so i grabbed my camera and got a shot before he turned and gave the bottom "haha" photo! he was laughing hysterically at me when he saw me taking his picture. little rascal!

brett had the weekend alone with henry a few weeks ago. he took him to church on sunday and snapped a few shots on the way out the door. he sure did make him look cute! i love the look of mystery on his face up top. i just wish i could get into his head to know what he is thinkin' sometimes!

2009 Fun!

YES- we have been terrible bloggers lately!!! so sorry! time has been passing quickly and i don't know what we have been doing except having so much fun!! henry is an absolute blast right now and Lucy just tells the greatest stories & of course loves on him so much.

henry latest favorite things...and yes they are quite weird but he is obsessed with the following:

1. the swifter (see below)...he ask for it at least 5 times a day and it is actually great because he helps keeps the floors semi clean :).
2. chic-fil-a nuggets...the other night i hit the drive thru since brett had a meeting- i was lazy and didn't want to cook. i got him a SIX pack kids meal and me a sandwich. well, he downed the 6 nuggets in about 5 minutes and was begging for more! so i gave him about a fourth of my sandwich and he still wanted more! i can tell that the weekly visits to chic-fil-a while i was pregnant definitely went straight to his taste buds.

3. curious george.....he loves the show and especially loves it because in most episodes the dog hundley is a character (see favorite #4). henry has been taken down by a bad case of eczema within the past two weeks. we have been having to put some cream on him three times a day and the only way to keep the child still is to plop him our lap directly in front of the tv with curious george on. we can ask him if he wants to go watch george and he runs to the tv & then i'll turn the show on and when the music starts he begins to dance. it is too cute. but of course as soon as i finish with the cream and tell him he is all done he is off and could care less about the tv!
4. dogs.....but that is dogs only far away and not in close touching distance. we will be riding in the car and every time he sees a dog he says "doh di". But- if we are around a dog in person he has a slight freeeaaakkkk out! we are slowly working on this problem.....hopefully it will get better & he won't be the kids who is scared of dogs.
5. outside.....just ask the question- "do you want to go outside?" and he is off! he loves being outside and the swing or his radio flyer wagon are is favorite spots. the other day i was swinging him and i got him down and i told him we had to go inside. instead- he walks around the house to the carport and goes to the back and tries to get into his wagon.....so yes- we went for a walk in the wagon. i think we will be spending most of our summer outside!

6. milk.....thank goodness he has started to love his milk out of his sippy cup. the bottles & formula are all gone. in a way it was sad to give it up because i feel like that was the last part of being a "baby" that was left of him. he is growing so fast and just changing too quick.
Here are lots of photos of what we have been up to in the past two months. we have had lots of park play dates- especially our fun valentine photo shoot with lucy. enjoy the pics below and i hope to be a better blogger!!!

at school they tell me he likes to go down head first on the slide!

who would think that a big pile of sofa cushions and blankets would be so much fun???

my favorite look.....i didn't do anything wrong????

January fun....

I can't believe it has almost been a month since Christmas....each week flies by and we are amazed at how much Lucy is growing up! She had a love for Max and Ruby that thankfully somewhat waned post-summer but it is back! So- her current interests are Max and Ruby (asks to watch "just a little" right as she wakes in the morning), bubbles, puzzles, books and playing with her babies and kitchen. Fun is the best word to describe her. Inquisitive, compassionate and a bit stubborn would be a few more to add to the list. Above are a few shots of us playing with my sunglasses, she took the one of me- and is quite good to be photographing at 2 1/2!! And more shots of her outside this past weekend. We played outside despite the freezing cold with some bubbles this past weekend- but she finally announced her hands hurt and it was too "Chilly" for her to stay outside. On the way back in she told me that she was sorry she had such a hard time...where does she come up with this stuff? Just last week she called us into her room on Monday morning- had her footed pj's on and lying next to her was her Pull Up - this is no small feat to undress yourself (in the dark), take off pjs, take off PullUp, put pjs back on and zip! The next morning she told me we could give her Pull Ups to Hen- "i don't need 'em anymore- they're for babies- and Hen can use 'em". Lip curled while she said it so matter of factly. I want to freeze her and let her stay this age for another six months....if only.

New Jeep!

We don't have just a great babysitter- but our sweet sitter, Madi, and her family are like part of our family. They love Lucy and Lucy (and Stephen and I) love them! This Christmas- they gave her a Barbie Jeep- she had randomly mentioned one day that she wanted a pink car for Christmas and wouldn't you know Santa delivered it to the Sadri's to bring to Lucy.
I am especially thankful for all of their gifts- mostly the time they spend with our girl. Sure it is nice for them to take her off our hands and give us a break. But more than that, we know that she is being LOVED- and well taken care of. I would trust them with anything. Madi is such a special friend- and it has been a privilege to see her finish up her last years of high school and grow and mature into such a fine young lady that is honest, compassionate, responsible, loyal, and trustworthy. Not to mention beautiful. But what is most beautiful is her heart. And you can tell that is something she learned from her parents, Allison and John. I can only hope to do such a good job as a mother to Lucy. So enjoy the short clip- and I will try and get some more now that she has learned how to steer!

Dancin' Again

I don't know what is funnier:
The commentary by family and our attempts to get them going...the laughter in the background....henry and lucy's moves....or our obsession with "Single ladies"....
