Two Year olds...

So I gave Stephen the new FLIP for our anniversary (for those like me who didn't know what this is- it is the tiniest little video camera ever that holds up to an hour of video). I love it, he loves it more and it is so fun to now have something so small and convenient to capture Lucy and some of her moments on film. We are still trying to figure this whole thing out but I thought I would put a "typical" clip on this post.
Often we get snagged into sharing only the pretty moments in our lives. But what about the other 96% of the time when things don't go like you had planned? Lucy was all dressed for school, had the raincoat on and was prancing around with her umbrella. So, of course, Stephen grabbed the FLIP....a quick peek at this short film will tell the rest of the story (love the arching of the back at end of video- does anyone else have a child that does this??).
It was a great reminder to me that I need to appreciate lucy for who she is and what she is right now. A little girl trying to figure things out....her vocabulary is getting better daily, but she is still 2 and I need to remember patience with her....and love her for just where she is in life!

POPSICLES!!!

Goose and Hen had a popsicle date on this humid Sunday afternoon. Lala treated the kiddos to Lifesaver pops and the fun began....Hen had never had this summer delight and it was fun to see Lucy try and teach Henry the art of eating a popsicle. We had a great time taking pics and watching these cousins make yet another memory (though at this point the memories are selfishly for Linds and myself!).

Hen is on the loose and our adventures have just begun! We were able to share some of our plastic wealth and junk up the Boner household with some of our favorite, slightly worn treasures....

the beach and goose

Lucy has gotten two trips in to the beach in the last couple of weeks....and loved every moment. We went with our neighbors, the Ervins, to the Outer Banks and had a great time crabbing, playing in the sound, pool and ocean. Three kids kept us busy and it was a blast.

Lucy and I went to Sea Island this past weekend with our friends Molly and Brooke Schnyder and once again couldn't get enough sun and fun. I just took a photography class with the girl that took Goose and Hen's pics in April and am having so much fun doing mini-photo sessions with Lucy and her pals...check back soon for an update with Hen and ice cream cones....

new things....

we've got a little man on the loose! here is a quick peak at him crawling....he just started this week! i actually picked him up from school early on tuesday and brought him to work for a visit. i plopped him on the floor & he was off for the calculator! our life is about to change! time to tie up those cords & clear off the tabletops- he is in to everything!!!

i have been a chicken for too long! we decided it is finally time for henry to start eating some finger foods. i have been afraid of the whole choking thing but i think he can finally start to learn how to handle it. here is a clip of him eating a puff...his funny faces he makes while eating are priceless....and yes it looks like he is about to choke but really he was okay.....he just can't figure out how to get the food from the tray to his mouth- he would rather play with it in his hands and then throw it on the floor......once he masters it and starts to get real messy i am sure i will be missing these days.

beach trip!

every july we are lucky enough to head to sea island for a few days to be with brett's family. the weather was perfect- not too hot- and the pool was henry's favorite. will & lilly entertained us with their hilarious comments & brett & i got a lot of free time in the sun thanks to his parents taking care of little man. the trip down was great! henry slept for 2 of the 5 hours & i got to actually read 3 magazines!! i haven't done that since i was pregnant with him. the trip home was quite different....only about 2- 20 min naps and the rest of the time we had to constantly entertain.....but would you want to be strapped in for 5 hours?? i don't think so! here are a few pics from the trip- enjoy!

the strongest woman i know....

HONEY.....(aka mom or judy)......is the strongest woman i know. she is the woman i have admired & strived to be like all my life. she has that special "mom" gift of just being able to look at me & know that i need a hug because i have hit a rough patch in the road. over the past years she has crossed many bridges in her life with her health but keeps on pushing through and always comes out on top! conquering those battles and always always looking on the bright side and never focusing on the negative.

this thursday mom begins her first round of chemo for breast cancer. i ask that you pray with us over these next few months. pray for her physical strength, for our family support, for the nurses guidance, for henry & lucy to stay healthy so they can visit & play with their Honey, for her emotional strength, and of course so much more. this is a new road our family will be traveling on together with her and of course with God right by our side.

here are two photos from tonight. we had a surprise dinner for mom at Cantina with all of her best friends. everyone wore pink & greeted mom with some hilarious wigs (more pics of those to come from carrie). it was a super fun evening of dinner with friends and lots of good laughs! exactly what she needs before thursday. thanks to everyone for such a fun night!

we will keep you posted on the blog as to how mom is doing. thank you all for your friendships and your hearts. she is our "Honey" and just seems to get sweeter and sweeter over time! xoxo mom- i love you so much!
